Fabric

All HeerVaani garments are crafted using 100% pure cotton. Cotton is a natural, breathable fabric that feels soft on the skin and becomes more absorbent and comfortable with every wash. Its ability to allow airflow makes it ideal for everyday wear, especially in warm and humid climates.

Each fabric is carefully sourced and selected for its authenticity, quality, and suitability for handcrafted techniques.

Dyeing and Printing

Our fabrics are dyed and printed using traditional and conscious processes, including natural dyes and certified azo-free dyes. During the dyeing and printing stages, the fabric is washed multiple times to help set the colour and enhance durability.

Note: Because these processes are done by hand, slight variations in colour, depth, and motif placement may occur. These variations are not defects; they are signs of true craftsmanship and make every HeerVaani piece unique.

Shrinkage

During the dyeing and printing processes, the fabric is washed multiple times. This ensures complete dye absorption, removes excess surface dye, and prevents further shrinkage after stitching.

Care for Kurtas & Dupattas

To ensure the longevity of your HeerVaani Kurtas and Dupattas, please follow these guidelines:

  • Dry clean recommended to protect the fabric, craft, and colour. Alternatively, you may gently hand wash separately at home in cold water.
  • Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
  • Do not soak.
  • Clean separately to avoid any colour transfer.
  • Add a handful of salt to the first rinse if hand washing for the first time, to help set the colour.
  • Avoid using harsh detergents, fabric softeners, bleach, or starch.
  • Turn clothes inside out to minimize discoloration, especially dark shades.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight while drying to preserve the natural hues.
  • Always iron naturally, inside out, at a warm to hot temperature. Do not wet the fabric while ironing.

Care for Bottoms

Wash gently as you wish, either by hand or in a machine, using a mild detergent—ensuring the fabric stays true to its natural feel, wear after wear.

Ironing and Storage

  • Iron carefully at medium to hot heat.
  • Always iron on the reverse side.
  • Avoid wetting the fabric during ironing.
  • Store in a cool, dry place.

Handcrafted pieces often carry small variations. These are not flaws, but signs of human hands and the beauty of craft.
